Aftermarket Clutch?
What advantages does an aftermarke clutch give you? I was looking and the Werck clutchs and thought for the amount of money the cost they better give me some type of advantage. But really I dont see it. I can change the springs in my clutch now to engage soon or later now, why spend the money on after market clutches?

RE: Aftermarket Clutch?
because you can and they are available.
At one point I considered getting an adjustable clutch but after racing for a while I never saw a real need for it. I use the same setup all the time anyway and a stock clutch gives me an accurate setting every time.

Their main advantage is that you get good at removing the engine and adjusting/ cleeaning/ replacing the shoes quicker the longer you use it.

Aftermarket clutches seem to be a mixed bag. We had a guy, like Da Smak said, who got really good at taking his motor out; he was using a Werks clutch. Other guys I race with swear by 'em. One guy said that the shoes in his Fiorini (Fioroni? Fiororoonieni?) last forever...
Based on what I've seen at the track, if I were to go to an aftermarket clutch, it would be the Fioroni (or however you spell that).

I've been buying from Nova R/C online for about six months and have had good results with thier adjustable shoes. The south Florida heat is hard on clutch bells, bearings , shoes. These have been pretty good to me. They start at $19.59 + $4.99 shipping, but they have make an offer option on ebay. I've got them for $20.00 that includes shipping.

RE: Aftermarket Clutch?
I have been using the works clutch for over a year. Only use one set of Shoes a year in it. You have to set it up right for it to work right for you. I have never used any other after market clutch. With my standard clutch I was haveing to change shoes and springs about once every 3-4 races. So for me it has been allot less maintenance.
