About upgrades, don't ask ME, visit a local hobby store and ask them. And that with the 100 ft, YOU'RE NOT THE ONLY ONE. The same thing did happen to me but it wasn't my radio, it was the damn battery on my car. It unpluged while i was in full throttle, and guess what? It went and went and went and...FLIP (thank god), but my engine was running in full throttle while flip (THIS IS A BAD THING ). After that, in the receiver bo i put A LOT of foam .
Oh, you store your rc outside? Why? I have it near my bed so i can touch it easy . And why are you asking if you can store it in 20 degrees? Is metal dude, what can happen? No doubt, it will be fine (well, you take out all the fuel of the tank of the car when you finish with a bashing or racing, right?)

DO NOT store the nitro outside in the winter. cold weather makes the nitro gummy and sludgy. keep it in a place thats room temp and dry. as far as after run oil, when the engine is off open the carb to wide open throttle and put 5 or 6 drops down the carb then turn the engine over a few times. i also suggest plugging the carb and exhaust outlet with paper towels or something to keep moisture out, but its not nessesary

Best to store fuel in a low humidity, dark, climate control area. Do you only bash? The 645 is OK for bashing but not much good for racing.

i put it in both glowplug whole and the carb somtimes even a squirt down the fuel tube and then prime it up through the carb and into the engine.
down the glow plug whole isnt always a good idea as it may catch dirt and bring it inot the engine as well.

Check your manufacturers recommendations for after run. OS says not to put oil in the carb because it can affect the O-rings. That was a new one on me. I do that for other engines. But if thats what OS says, then thats what I will not do anymore.
