I'm getting a 6x12 trailer to use as a Pit trailer when I go race. Please send me pix of your pit trailers so i can get some good ideas on how to build it out. Thanks.

Well jolly for you, but showing me a picture of the outside of a van isn't helping my cause. Thanks for replying.

How many models do you plan to run? How many classes are you going to enter? How many people working in the trailer? I can draw you a layout if you give me an idea of what your looking for and how much you intend to spend. If you are at the track there should be atleast one or two pit trailers there, sneak over and take a peek. I personally work out of the back of my van with a fold away canvas tent. That is probably what the first guy was trying to say, but I am sure you can get the trailer a lot cheaper than you can get that van.

Here's how we started:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?vK6lvT4LfaWA

And later it ended up like this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?vNILLroqLzz8

Since the last vid, we've redone the floors, added a shelf, and then later a car stereo and 4 speakers. We have a 12V array, hooked up to a ger that works automatically. So we have 12V power for all our gers, and there's electrical outlets on every wall. We use it every race, and are spoiled rotten with it!

Wow that's a nice one! We spent just under $500 all together to get ours up and going. How much did it cost to build that one?

I'm currently running a REVO and will be running a Hyper 9 when it comes out next month. it will mostly be myself but at the most two people. I've seen some pit trailers and I have gotten some ideas on layout but you can never have too much inspiration. The trailer will run me about $2000 and I look to spend another $500 to pimp it out. with the flooring, workspace, storage, pegboard, yada, yada

Below is what I have drawn up so far in Visio. It's not done but it's a start.

I checked out that Helotes trailer, are you kidding me?
Ummm, guys.. Hello, you are racing RC cars for Christs sake!! If I had that trailer I wouldn't use it for RC, I'd go on holidays with it.

If I am gonna go that far I will just start racing full-scale again

I feel the same way. You dont even win money from most races. I guess if your independently wealthy and retired maybe, but sheesh.

westphill24,gbasile,

Yeah I'm independently wealthy so don't worry about my wallet jack*****. All I'm looking for is constructive suggestions to assist me in this. Unless you have pictures of the inside of a pit trailer or links to pictures of the inside of a pit trailer then go post somewhere else (gbasile, between this comment and the picture of a dirty bucket, your experience in RC is HIGHLY suspect, maybe you're a janitor). Take a hint from WalkerBoh's posts if you need an example of how to offer constructive assistance. Thanks for contributing to my carpel tunnel by compelling me to respond to your useless comments.

Sheesh!!

Wow calm down, lets not start a war over nothing. And i meant absolutely no offence or insult with my first post, sorry. What about getting a cheapish caravan? that'd be kewl (but i hate caravans)

Also about callin gbasile a janitor? where did that come from?! why should a janitor know any less about rc than a salesman, or a plumber or anyone else in the world?! and also, from what I have ever read of his on this website he has a fair bit of knowledge (and is polite unlike some people...)

El Tigre - Geez chill out guys. I thought my bucket photo was pretty funny actually. What is even funnier is that I went out and took a photo of it for the post. Well, maybe that is more sad than funny.
It's good that you are independantly wealthy, personally, I am 30 and I have already made my first million. Not bad for a janitor hey, although cleaning out my bucket on Sunday night ready for janitor work on Monday is a bit of a pain.
I guess we are both rolling in dough, it just depends how you spend it I guess, whatever gives you pleasure I guess. Personally I luv RC, however I also have 3 full scale 'toy' cars in the stable (and a vintage Ducati, but whose counting) so I need to spread the millions across all these toys.

As far as equipment = experience, that is really lame and stupid. Guy at my track, the one with no shoes and working off a card table - he wins every week. Makes all the guys with matching tents, jocks and socks look really dumb.

That trailer is definitely wicked though, maybe I'll buy me one.... or two..... or....

No they don't. Ever since people started buying trailers to keep their crap in the bucket markets taken a nose dive.
I might get one now whilst you still can.

My bad...I'm cool now. Bad week at the job. I should really wait to get home to post this stuff so I don't reply when I'm in the middle of BS at work. If we were in a bar I would buy the next round for being a dick.
