Anyone who has tried this engine?
What is the best break-in method?
Which glowplug?

idk about break-in or which plug but... If you get one, order a carb o-ring kit to. Most v2s come with ripped o-rings in the carb.

I have run these engines for about 3 years. McCoy 59 plugs are good if you want to setup the timing a bit with a hotter plug. If you are running 30% or greater I would run a colder plug. OS plugs are short plugs and may not reach far enough to have a smooth entry on the head button for the fuel. You can take the head and headbutton off with glow plug attached and see what I mean.
Break in is basically get it up to 200 degrees as soon as you can and lean a little on top end prior to adjusting low end. The factory settings are very rich.
I have one .21 that runs great at 202 and another one that runs better at 225.

How long run-time do you get - and which venturi do you use?
What about pipe - which one works with this engine?
I have orderd this engine, but it is still in the mail.....

I race with this engine and it is great. I run an OS#8 with Oddonell 20% race fuel. I run the 7.5mm insert. With this set-up, I can out power most cars down the straight and out of all the corners.

RE: Sportwerks V2 .21
Don't run an OS plug in this engine - it is too short. Run a standard, medium plug like the McCoy MC-8. I like the 9mm venturi - unless you are trying to slow down or conserve fuel. This engine is an SH Pro PT2004-XB1 (SHEngines.com) resold by Horizon. I haven't had any trouble with mine and recently rebuilt it with a new piston and sleeve for the new race season. I have run JP2 and JP3 pipes on it and both seemed fine. The engine will get much better after about a gallon of fuel. Just heat cycle it about 10 times making sure to set the piston at the bottom after shutting the engine off. I'm sure the factory settings are too rich - so lean it out so that you can keep it running and get it up to 200. You may also need to heat it a bit with a hair dryer or something to get it started. You can also loosen the plug a bit to make it easier to start at first, then crank it down once it's running. Good luck, this is a nice engine. I run 30 in mine and wouldn't consider anything less. You may want to shim it for 30 if you hear detonation.

The MC-8 plug works very well with 30% fuel and this engine. Try to keep oil to 12% at most. I run JP-1 pipe with 13 tooth clutchbell and this seems to be a good setup.
