Is this bad?
I have heard that o'donnel's oil can change the color of your piston rod but my buddy's new Axial engine is around the same age as my new Hyper .21 3port engine and he uses o'donnel too, the only problem is his piston rod isn't a dark orange color only mine is. My first thought was that my engine is shot, but then I called my LHS and they said its just been discolorated by the oil. Is this true?

RE: Is this bad?
As long as it's not burned black looking...Just being discolored shouldn't be a problem...
My buggy engine is bright yellow inside and ive also seen one that the piston and rod were bright green from the fuel being used....

My pistons are all yellow/orange on top. I run Duraglow fuel which has excess castor oil in it, this oil being yellow gets burned onto the engine and discolours it. It's nothing to worry about, so long as you keep that engine tuned nicely it'll run as long as you want!

Thanks so much guys, its nice to know theres nothing wrong with it; today I ran it and it runs great, though now I need a new clutch bell, oh well might as well take the advantage of it and get a better one!
