Truggy Tires on Buggy?
I have a OFNA 9.5 and I have worn out the tires. I'm thinking of buying wider truggy style wheels on it. Has anyone tried this?
I was thinking of getting the same diameter wheel, but I am also entertaining the idea of getting wheels with a larger diameter to get a little more clearance. Has anyone tried that?

i guess it would be possible, but you'd better but a larger clutch bell on it so it wont be as hard on the engine

FYI You gear down if the load is too much...Not gear up.

so it is "gearing down".... you know for low end
"gearing up" is top end

You will also need to run your engine slightly rich to keep temps down.

Also NO.....the sheer gearing wall you would put up in front of the motor would be too great and cause excessive wear and tear on the motor and clutching system

Putting big tires on without a lot of other mods is a bad idea, I tried it awhile back. The buggy ran very hot and was super slow. Get a truggy or a conversion kit.

RE: Truggy Tires on Buggy?
I tried some maxx wheels and tires on my buggy i had and it hated them with the stock gearing. I could have only went 1 tooth smaller on the bell, and i know that wouldnt be nearly enough. I only ran my buggy 1/4 tank before i decided it was going to melt my clutch if i didnt stop.

RE: Truggy Tires on Buggy?
If you cant get a final gear ratio of 15.5/1 (often requires a larger spur gear), dont bother bolting truggy wheels and tires onto an 1/8th scale buggy chassis.
