Buggy 8 vs Hyper SS...

Both are about the same price, did some searching but could'nt figure out which would be better for bashing/racing. I don't know that much about the 1/8th buggies so I figured I'd ask here. Looking to get back in to the 1/8th buggy, really miss the sho I used to have years ago. If someone has a better suggestion for an rtr 'round tree fiddy feel free to enlighten me :) .

Thanks.

Are you looking for nitro or electric?

The OFNA LX2e is an outstanding bargain if you are looking for electric, and the only one I know of that comes for $350 RTR with a good reputation (the buggy 8 is close in price, but I've not seen any reviews yet). I'll have to let others chime in concerning the nitros, as I'm out of the loop for some time on that front having gone electric a few years ago.

The Hobao Hyper 7 is your friend. :) It may be old but its sill current, and the fact its been around for a long time, just means there are UNTOLD upgrades and parts all over the place. It is the great nitro buggy bargain. I believe the old Sho was based on the original Hyper 7 design (I may be wrong, I remember it was based on one of the popular budget buggies), so it should look familiar. :)

Well, that be the one! I wonder how good the futaba servos are though. Either way I'll be placing my order as soon as I can find a site that has it in stock. Thanks :)

KYOSHO MP7.5. you just cannt go wrong with them. I have been racing them here in Belgium for the past couple of years and NEVER had a real problem and parts are just so easy to find. The HOBOA just sux compaired to it.

I would like to try a 1/8 buggy, and I would like to try nitro. I'll probably stick to electric though. Are these cars super loud? Like a .25 trainer. Most bash spots I know have lots of passersby. I could totally see the Chinese police showing up.

For bashing...

How is the Hyper 7 electric?

Is the EB4 3G better? I know it cost a little more.
If nitro, how does the EB4 3S measure up?

nitrosteve22, how do you like the Hyper 7 nitro?

Is it fast? Is it a good motor? Here it is for sale in China. Price is almost exactly $300.

The box says 55 km/h, about 35mph.

It's a great car with a solid engine. If you want to try nitro, you can;t go wrong with that car for that price, it's a real bargain. I doubt the EB4 3S is better in any measurable way, and I like TTR stuff, the Hyper is just amazing value. Can you get Hong Nor stuff there? If so, look through whatever they've got too, they haven't made a bad car yet.
