Mini C Airboat
Had an extra Mini C hull not doing anything so thought I would do an airboat out of it. Took everything out of it except the strudder. Decided to use it as a the rudder. Built a motor mount to bolt an Align 1000kv motor to. Turned the 6x5 prop around to make into a pusher. Mounted the Exceed 30amp esc under the hatch. Cut open the inner hull where the battery mount was to allow easier positioning of the battery both 2s or 3s. Tactic rx up front. Also cut brass shaft tube. Had to install weight on left forward side to straighten up how the hull sits in the water. Also filled front of hull with flotation foam. Isn't real fast but does look good on the water. Will post vid when I can get one.

RE: Mini C Airboat
Hey thanks for the comments guys. I guess I could make it into a puller but thought that maybe the cowls would be in the way of the prop and it doesn't look half bad as a pusher. So speaking of props what is the difference between a puller and a pusher prop? After talking to an airplane guy at the hobby shop he said the one thing that made any sense to me. He said "Pusher props are used because when you turn a combustion engine around you can't reverse the direction that it's turned." I'd like to know what the difference is in props if any.

I will leave that one to the experts.wait...Theres got to be a differenece which side the leading edge is on (Fat Side) because right now you are probably turning it with the thin side leading which is probably really inneficent.
I'm sure someone will chime in soon about the REAL difference.

The standard aircraft engine turns ccw when looking at it from the prop end. Both the tractor prop and the pusher prop turn in the ccw direction. The blades are mounted to pull the air(tractor) or push the air(pusher). I hope that explains it. Dennis

pusher prop the leading edge is on the left side if u r look and prop from flat side. the pitch with be lower at the L.E. and ramp up the pitch to the T.E.and the flat side always points away from the motor in the pusher setup. round side to motor. this is a 5 blade pusher prop

RE: Mini C Airboat
Here's a link for a vid for this Mini C Airboat. It shows it running a 2 blade 6X5 and a 3 blade 7X5 both on 2s lipo. I did run it on 3s lipo which made it much faster but the torque roll was worse.

Sorry to say this. But I almost fell asleep watching that video looks like she needs a little more UMPH.

Too high a KV. Do you have a old Johnson that has a total 12,000 rpm and a lower pitch prop. You can't say, you didn't try .Now on 2S with the tri blade would probably was the limit for the Mini-C, not a wide enough base of boat.

I have an 1800kv motor that I'll try next. I already have the angles that you describe on the motor mount. Will let you know how it comes out.
