Default Progress made: What airboat dimensions with this setup?...

As an airplane guy for years I have some spare parts and I would like your expert opinion of what size/kind of a DIY airboat I should make.

I will make this airboat for my 11 years son to have some fun in the nearby lake of my mothers-in-low village 30km away of our home town!

Any suggestions all welcome!

Thank you for your time...

the lake:

motors I can use fro left to right KA20-20L 1050Kv , KA20-22L 924kv , Turnigy Bell 2409 1200Kv
for 10X4.7 or 9X3.8SF props

the blue foam 2inches thick 23 X 23 inches

no problem with props (a box of them!)

I also have esc receiver & transmitter with battery range from 1200mah to 2200mah LiPo

ALEX, Greece

During my vacation period 1 week ago (this summer) I took some stuf with me for building and here is my results:

and a video (this setup is a little bit slow - I will try different props!)

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/ksGJ1AGv_-4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
place: Nikiti beach , Thessaloniki , GREECE

It was a really quick build (it took me 3 days to complete) so the results are good I think!

As you can see in the video it was 'nose heavy' so I had to put 2 small stones at the rear so the front side stays out of water (!!) .
I will remove completely the white (water-proof) plastic box in front and put the battery & receiver on the wood part upawards.... and see how it will go....

That is excellent. The video shows how much the center of balance can really affect speed.
