Default Hardware advice for total novice

Looking to start an airboat project this Easter break with my son.

I'm a total newbie to RC builds but the project is part educational (for me and my lad), and part recreational so I'm expecting a bit of trial and error for the actual boat build while we figure out what works.
However - when it comes to the hardware I need a complete electric set up that will be fairly straight forward and allow us some fun and decent speed on lakes etc.

I've done some reading and am looking at a DIY version of something like the Dumas li'l swamp buggy. I have looked at some other set ups and this is the kit list I've compiled so far, just want to know if this will do the job to a decent standard.

I'd really appreciate any advice before I make a total fool of myself at the local pond!
I'm UK based if that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance!

I see no reason why that set up wouldn't work.

Thank you! It's ordered.
Only changes were the ESC, got one with BEC for the servo. And 2200mah battery was on offer so got that instead.
