New Builder/First Air Boat

Is the servo connected to any linkages or is it just the servo itself? Is the receiver a surface receiver or a marine receiver?

If the receiver works okay otherwise, do some range checking to make sure it's still functioning properly at range. If it does without glitching (and failsafe still functioning properly), I would just use it. If it glitches at all, get another receiver. If your radio is capable of using the spektrum marine receivers, I would recommend one of those instead. Longer antennas and water resistant. They do cost about $50 new though. The marine receivers is all I use in my boats.

Yes, it's a bad idea. It has close to enough oil (16%), but 33% nitro is WAY too much nitro. Not to mention, Traxxas fuel is just rubbish to use. I hated the stuff. Someone gave me a gallon of it some years back. I used it solely for starting bonfires and killing weeds.

If you want your engine all carboned up, use it. But you'd need to add oil and methanol to it. The engine it would be used in is not tolerant of more than 10% nitro usually.
Use it at your own risk. Seriously, it's junk.
