Default My first boat is finally done!

OK guys, here it is... my first boat. definetly some beginner flaws, but it was fun to build. Let me know what you think. I will take it out for its first run this afternoon after i finish my Honey-Do list. I should have some video for tomorrow also. How did you seal the radio components from water?
ie:...battery connections, receiver connections, crystal...

I used a little silicone sealant on all connections. It seals very well, and with just a bit of work, is 100% removable. I really dont like having the componenets where they are. I will change them on boat two, which is already in the planning process.
I also want to let you all know, that the boat never ran. I tested my engine at the house-ran fine-got to the pond on sat. and sunday and couldnt get the damn thing to fire. So I am scrapping the crappy Cox .074 and going to put an OS .10 FP on it. I will need to redesign the mount, but no big deal. I am probably going to build a new hull, with a hatch to secure the radio equip.

If you know anyone that wants a Cox Queen Bee .074 R/C engine that runs on the bench----let me know, but i dont expect a miracle...

Thanx all, I will post some progress on the new motor when i have time to build it.

HMMM those don't seem to work.[&o] ahh ic ic now you have to log into imagestation first.

It uses semi proportional differetial thrust steering and can turn around its axis. The large chunk of foam on the front is so if it sinks it won't go all the way under. It has a slow leak in the back where i tried an under water propellor setup so i tried to stop it with one of those (proud honor student parents bumper sticker) but it still leaks. It can make it over some nice sized waves with out capsizing and can go in easily go in ponds only inches deep. It's batteries are 2 (4.8V 1500mah) packs wired in parralel for 3000 mah of capacity it runs for around an hour quite quickly for the cruddy design
