"Selph-Inflicted" Slight V-Hull Video
Here is my latest creation. A slight V-hull. I am really having some fun with this boat. It handles like a Champ!
Here it is in action. I am running in a bit of chop with some wind blowing. If you slow the video footage down, you will see that it catches air about 10 times in the video. Here are some pics captured from the video.

Great Pics!
How many degrees is the V in the hull?
The boat that I'am building now is flat bottomed at the transom then goes to 5 degree V
at the bow. I have no Idea how it will handle ,Can't wait to try it out after seeing your boat in action .

Lindsay....Not sure on the degree amount, its not much. Just drew it out to personal liking.
I am having a blast with this boat. It handles excellent. I can turns and tracks very well. I have only had the chance to run about 4 tanks so far. Looking forward to getting it wet again.

Chris thanks for your reply, It sounds like I build my boats in a similar way to your self.
I usually change the plans to what I think looks good. Thats if I use any plans at all.
I was just basically wanting to know whether the hull was a Steep "V" or a shallow "V".
I will post some video and picks when I finely launch my boat.

Chris.
The only update that I can give you is that the boat is finished and ready to launch !
If only I could start the B****y engine , I spent a day trying to start the old engine , It just refused to run. I hope to buy a new replacement OS 25 in the next few weeks, just have to save some money. I have a new Rossi 46 that I crudely adapted and bolted on just to see the boat work, but it was to big for the pylons and got in the way of the rudders.I guess I have to build a second airboat for the Rossi ,I will post some pics and some videos as soon as I get a new engine.I can't wait to get in on the water and have some fun,

Try tearring the engine down and giving it a good cleaning. That may get 'er to run.
We'll be awaiting the vids and pics.

I would love to strip engine down but all the screws and bolts are rusted,I have striped the screw heads trying to remove them, So I guess It's time for a new engine.
Thanks for the advice,I work well with wood but not so well with engines, I have a lot to learn.
The boat Will be up and running soon. [&:]

No problems
I have placed a stick of timber across the hull so you can see the angle of the "V" .The "V" flattens to a complete flat section at the rear of the boat.
Thanks for your pics .But I can't open them at my end .

Have'nt had the boat out since christmas holidays,Been doing some grass running and hull repairs.Your "V" hull pics of the under side did not show on my computer, does'nt matter.
My new OS .25 engine from Towers runs well, it's good having an engine that starts easily .
