is that a ty-rap holing the motor on? does it hold?
Great looking hull as with all the boats i have seen from you, good quality and detail.

The motor is setting on two sadle blocks that hold it inline with the center of the hull, then there is a block on the front side of the motor to keep it from moving foward, and a ty-rap(heavy duty) holds the motor down in place.

Well i did a good job of talking you into building it hehehehe
it looks really good btw
Oh i havent had time to work on the baby gator lately but i should
have it finished here real soon i hope , all i have done is float tested it
to make sure it wasnt over weight

Looks good. I think you ould be REALLY happy with a brushless if you happen to have one on hand.
but as is it looks great, hope my nitro one will be that stable with the mods i am just completing.

Yes, if your wanting to spend the extra money. Some brushless motors have the power that is compairable to nitro engines. I have not done a lot of searching, have come across electrics with over 2hp, in which is comparable to a .61 nitro. The electric I have here pushes this boat about the same as a .12 would(not a hopped up .12)

To tell you the trouth, I've never seen a bout from Mr Cajun Gator that I haven't been inpressed with. Keep it up! looks good.

actually i will only use a 540 size motor, maybe two of them. i actually thought about this after a disappointing trip to the riverside, lots of garbage and waterplants, i cant run my jet boat.

20" x 11-1/2" deck measurements, 8 x 6 prop. Best material to use is 1/16" 3ply burch plywood. Take it easy on the sealer and paint. Foam is also a good material for electrics.

the crewboat is 60"x16" and guessing at the weigth 45lbs

is that crewboat a kit or did you build it. that thing is huge i need one of those. a brushless motor with a lipo setup would be nice in your electric airboat. i run mainly brushless in my planes and the power is amazing but expensive.

This electric is basicaly just a beginner boat. Its not super fast but fast enough. It handles great, I don't ever think it will flip or blow over, unless washed over from a large wave, then you should not be running it at that time anyhow.
The crewboat is one of the boats I build, its all scale down to the speed. If your interested in seeing a vid go to the home page of http://cajungatorairboats.com/ click on any of the pictures and it will take you to a vid of that boat running. The .61pusher, the crewboat and the twin .46 the single .46 has a vid of a small race.

BOB MOORE

Hey guys. I have an airdrive boat design that I have used since the 1963. The first one was a single channel using an excapment. It was powered by an .020. I built a larger one about 7 years with a OS.10. I am thinking about going electric. How do you guys keep water out of the motor, or does it not matter BOB MOORE

From what I've seen, it's the ESC (electronic speed control) and the receiver that need to be kept dry. The motors can get wet. In fact I know a lot of folks actually break in their electric motors under water.
