cat hulls
what do people think of cat hull airboats? I'm thinking of building one, similar to a tunnel hull only wider, long, 13 wide, thin ply over foam sponsons.
I would hope the hull weight would be under 3.5 pounds. engine would be .30 to .40 somewhere in that range, what are your
thoughts, as I'm sure someone has built something like this. I'm really looking for straight ahead speed, any tips would be greatly
apprecated.

RE: cat hulls
there have been cat style airboats...
they dont slide in turns like flat bottoms, but more carve through the water....
i think it would be an awesome build...go for it..

RE: cat hulls
Built three ( or more ) ... and changed them all over to solid , flat bottoms. ( with the exception of the Aeromarine Jesse James hull you see , running a 4 stroker )

RE: cat hulls
terbobob, those are pretty nice, are they stable on fast straight runs? what type of speed can you get from them with what engines?
the one I'm building will have a water rudder, I'm just lookin for straight running fast boat
