rounded bottom

rounded bottom
hi everyone, i was just wondering if there is anything wrong with building an airboat like this(see picture). Kinda like the dumas lil swamp buggy but without the pointed bottom. will that rounded part of the bottom cause problems?

yes....if there is a curve on the bottom of the hull, it will act as a sucktion cup and prevent the hull from getting on plane easily....

Hello fellow Floridian boater!
A concave bottom can cause your boat to "stick" to the water. A convex shape can cause your boat porpoise.

The drawing that you have is not showing anything that will hurt anything. It looks like you are trying to have a boat that is thinner at the transome, this will be fine as long as the curve of the rake is the only longitude curve.
