its the current draw, "C" stands for capacity meaning the batteries capacity eg. 2250mah
So if your battery is 1000mah it can cope with 10 amp load (10,000 mah) and a 20C battery could do double
I would be careful with the batt as lipo are very dangerous and it doesn't seem like you have done much research.

Hey ATV if you want more info about your question i would ask down at the airplanes electric forum section. Those guys will lett you know anything you want and need to know about lipos ESC's motors props wattmeters and all other things that might be usefull to you
