Default Gas Tank position Question

Can i place the gas tank below the motor? this would make many of my design issues disappear !
Having run the motor a few times it looks like it can pull the gas... and it has the hose that comes from the exhaust which i am guessing pressurizes the gas tank... ( i could be wrong )

Thanks

I put my tank down in the body of the boat as I wanted to get the most out of the prop without adding additional blockage. It has no problem pushing fuel with the exhaust pressure to the tank. And it also lowers the center of gravity.

\Assuming you ARE referencing GAS , and not nitro , then yes , you can just about , place the fuel tank anywhere you want it .
BUT ...
if nitro , then this will all depend on the size of your nipple and line going from the exhaust pipe to the fuel tank AND how old your engine is .
( older , worn engines with not enough cyclinder pressure will not do as good as say , a new engine would in creating pressure going to the fuel tank ) and then , unless you use something like a Perry Pump , you would be limited as to where you could place the fuel tank . You would have problems at idle and WOT if the engine ( nitro ) does not create enough pressure.

Geez Terbo......Go take a nap. The guy types GAS instead of FUEL, and you go off on him. You would be correct though.

A Perry pump would be the way to go. No muss, no fuss. Just hook up and go.

You would need the blue one for nitro fuel.

my experience [to start with anyway] was a dumas big swamp buggy. it has the fuel tank mounted under the motor. granted, i had a new k&b .45 at the time, but it ran virtually flawlessly. proper exhaust backpressure with a tap to the fuel tank should be fine.

If the motor has already been tuned with the tank on level with it, you will need to retune the carb as the fuel presuure will be different.
