1:7 scale 90mm EDF Hydro Airboat
Hi!
Here´s my 90 mm EDF hydro projects.
I´ve made 2 hulls based on Atlas Van Lines and Twing wing T4. I wanted it to be 1:8th scale but the dudeat thelasercutcompany did some scaling with his Photoshop so the scale is more close to 1:7th
Itwas so hard to get 1,5mm or 2mm plywood from Finland (the land of thousand lakes and forrest..lol) so I had to figure it out and try Depron+fiberglass mix.
The Atlas hull has a plywoodlaser cut framingwhich is covered with 6mm depron and one layer 0,75oz Sig fiberglas. There will be 3-4 layers...
T4 hull is made almost completely out of depron 3mm. But there is some wood to make the hull more steady. (EDF motor mount is wood and there are some5mm x 10mm pinewood all over the hull,pontosetc.). I try to start fiberglassing it later this week...
But here´s a couple of pictures what i´ve done in past two weeks.

EDF intake is made out of a plastic tube and polykarbonate tube. It´s still holding together with ductape but will be replaced by silicone.

not to be mean, she looks great.... but I have never heard or witnessed a EDF boat that could get out of the hole in the water, they simply do not have enough thrust... that better be the meanest EDF ever for it to work.... it always sounds so cool, and it always ends in dissapointment... just my .002, not trying to be a troll or anytihing.

RE: 1:7 scale 90mm EDF Hydro Airboat
Hi all!
So Here is my one and only "monster" that is based on 1:8th scale Atlas Van Lines hydro.
I did not but any fiberglass on it. It is made out of Extrupor/depron. There is of course some balsa and plywood to strength it a little bit. Total weight is now 1680g and thrust is about 3000g
I still haven´t finished the paintwork and but some extra weights to front because now in full throttle it wants to go up Also carbon fiber turning fin is on its way from China...
