Yes. This month we are meeting in Ocala on the 20th. You should come out. We have a good time. We are hoping to get more people to come out because it is more fun with different types of boats and drivers. Dennis

The 20th is the Sunday before Christmas, we'll be in church for this event... Somebody take some pics!

Hope to attend the meet in January. Might have my Big Swamp Buggy completed by then. The garage smells like epoxy tonight. Still need to put the tops of the tunnels in place, then LOTS of sanding & finishing.

Snake77, I am not trying to be a "know it all", but you might try adding weight to the front of the boat. I added some weight to mine and it made a big difference. I'm running one of Lester's big gasser's and an Aligator Tours airboat. Hope this helps. Dennis

Dennis, I typed you a reply and my fat fingers fit the wrong button and lost it. It was pretty long! Are you coming this Sunday?  If so , I will tell you the styory in person. The lake was to rough to try the boat today. Maybe weather will be better and I can try both boats out. Were did you put weight on your boat. trying to think ahead ion case the shims are not enough.

I plan on being there sunday. To try out the weight's I taped them to the bow(on the deck) with water proof tape. Once I felt I had enough weight I epoxied them under the deck. I already had to tear the boat apart so it was no big deal. Dennis

Gotcha! Boat runs real good Dennis. I have still not been able to run my boat with the new pitch on the motor. WORK!!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully I will be able to play before Sun Day. Now I have both boats to test!!! thanks for the vid and pics. I thought about going to the local tire store and getting wheel weights. They are marked with the weight and in all incriments. But I am not sure were to start. Dennis how much weight do you have on your boat? And at what weight did you start? I have a feeling it will be a long process for me. But what more fun to be having!

Wow. Just..wow. I live in Ocala and didn't know about this.

Just picked up a used airboat at a LHS, but it has (had) a water rudder. It might be an Aquacraft. Had to clean the engine, it was all gummed up, but that is done, and working on converting it to an air rudder system. I use the "Ugly but it works" principal of modeling. ;-)

3rd sunday in January, I know where I'll be

Gary. The engine is a 27 cc CY i have had good luck with them stock . The crank will not holed up to will if they are hopped up but the stock Engine works well for us. In a race it come down to driver skill most of the time.

Hey Lester.

I got some duck hunters on the lake and are waking evrybody up about 6:00 am! I am going to add anotherreason to why R/C Airboats are so much fun to run. I will meet the hunters on the feild of battle and give the ducks a chance. I am VERY EXCITED ABOUT IT!!!!!!! On other news I have been playing with the weight on the boat and have got her settled down except the left turn. She wants to hop still on left turns. Right turns are right on the money as well as full throttle straight runs. YES even into a pretty stiff wind! How are things on your end?

Things here are good I have been working on a boat that I will deliver tomorrow. So far as the duck hunters I am sure they will like that.

The weight of a boat and the way it balances out has lot to do with the way a boat will perform. You will haft to find that sweet spot for that hull
