Default SI3 20 Series w/ 40 Rossi

Here is one of my latest personal creations. I had to see if the 20 Series could handle my 40 Rossi....
It made its debut at the meet last week end. This boat is a ton of fun to run!

Watch out 60 Series.....the lil' 20 Series wants to come out and play! [8D]

Here is one of its first runs.

Here is a video playing around with a 60 Series.

That's a smoking fast 20 series. I might have to rethink my engine choice for mine.

Yea that combo was definitely fast. It looks much faster in person[8D].

Uh oh I think Andy is thinking Jett. After seeing that I think it is possible now.

Ok....so the power to weight ratio is greater with the smaller boat with the 40 size engine.....it looks like you smoked the larger red S3 with the 90 engine.....you got more vids of this boat?

Res3567,
He's referring to [link=http://www.jettengineering.com/]Jett Engineering[/link]. I have often thought of what the 20 JETT would do on this boat.

This was the boats first trip out and I was more concerned with how it was going to act rather than video at the present moment. This is the only present video that I have of it. Now that I know how it rides....I'll be getting some more video as soon as I can.

It does look like the 91 SI3 was having a hard time playing "catch up." When both boats are coming down the back straight on the last pass, it does look like the 20 Series gave it a good run.

It gave the .91 60 series all it could handle. That is definitely something to smile over. Yes the Jett .20 in about any series Jett has would be so perfect for this boat, but a size up in motor is totally possible (after seeing that .40) as long as the boat is rigged properly.

We are on the same page. Now that is just the kind of sick thing I would like to see! We may need an "aero" package with that .

My only concern would be weight. With the Rossi, it sits low in the water. You will have to give it a few R's, then set the boat in the water to launch. It launches very easily. I did flip it once and it landed upright without going down.

My Rossi (w/ pipe) weighs 16 oz. The OS46AX (w/ factory muffler) is 1.2 oz heavier than my Rossi (with pipe). If your total engine weight isn't much more than 16 oz, I say go for it. The boat will handle it, just cant assure it will stay upright when not under power. I do believe there is another person that is planning an OS46Ax on his 20 Series.

You will be limited to a 9" prop. I believe that was a 9x7 I was running that day on the Rossi.

So I might be better off with the larger hull?

I'm just giving you some facts to base your judgment on. I have not seen one with the OS46AX on it yet. I also thought the 40 Rossi might be too much, but it worked.

On the 60 Series hull the OS46AX with a pipe will run in the high 40's.
