Another SI-20 build, you gotta love it! Can't wait to see it. There will be quite a few at the meet in October, good times ahead. [8D]

I think a mono hull will outperform an SI for the simple fact that less care has to be taken when passing over a wake....but I think if it's hydro against hydro...the SI may very well win....or dominate.

If you do this you have to get some good video. Do you have a tripod and an HD camera? Can you get one to use?

The Traxxas Nitro V is a slow boat cause it has an electric motor as a backup in case the enginestalls.....more weight.....and depending on the model....the Aquacraft might be a challange. Nonetheless it would be a great raceand I think you would win. Yea....I have been dabbling in the in the waterprop boats...but I still have my airboats.

If you have the .46 on and tuned well you could run circles around the lot, but the .21 outboard boat would be a great race with the other motors. Good video of this would be awesome! I hope it happens.

I am sure the paint job will be top notch after seeing the other hull.

BTW I have a traxxas nitro v with several mods and the RTS motor removed, it will still not break 30.

I changed the prop on my nitro vee, modded the motor a bit, and took out as much weight as possible. It made some improvement over the super slow stock setup. A motor change to a bit bigger OS or other brand may make it do around forty, but with that kind of expense you could stick a bone stock .46AX on the SI-20 and do fifty. With a turn fin on it it will also turn at those speeds quite well.

I think the only way to make a nitro v go faster is to put in a brushless motor and 12 lbs of Lipo. LOL

Them boys over there don't know to much about nitroairboats.... or if they do...they aint gone talk about it on that forum. Been hanging with them all summer long on the forum with my SV 27....I mention my Airforce....and either they aint never herd of it...or they herd of it butTHATS ABOUT IT.. Our airboats are a great mix of nitro, and airplane know how and a lot of those guys probably started with the fast nitro cars and decided to go fast with the water craft....and probably aint never messed with an airplane engine setup....yet.

have cut out extra motor plates and will get two ready with motor/tank attached ready to mount on boat

will mount Fox .25 after meet in OCT
I may try the ASP .46 on my alligator tour boat to see how it runs.then Super Tiger .34 on SI 3 20
