Water coming up driveshaft housing
Hi guys,
I am getting water coming into the hull of my boat via the brass colours drive shaft housing. Any ideas how to stop it?
It did have some plastic tubing inside but I removed that as the shaft was spinning that easily with it in place.
Please let me know if you have any ideas.
Thanks
Greg

Hi Greg,
Grease the inside of the shaft and re-assemble it. This will keep the water out. Every so often this needs to be done as part of routine maintenance.
Best of luck,
-Rich.

If you removed the teflon tube the brass is a little big now even with grease, you could nest a smaller brass tube inside to run with out the teflon.
But try the fuel tubing around the brass and flex at the motor end it keeps my UL-1 100% dry.
This is a boat with a flex cable drive?
