odessas big pink power boat project
Despite the misunderstanding, and justaddwattas opinion of me (I completely understand where he's coming from and don't blame him at all)
I promised I would post this thread. I still want to thank everyone that was going to help. Those of you who offered help and gave your addresses will still be getting christmas cards. Even if it didn't work out, we are still thankful that you were willing to help at one time.
I would also like to thank advanced builder for the package he sent, which included
Several different props and some prop nuts, a driver/pilot figure that odessa really got a kick out of because it reminded her of a character from the original star wars movie, a prop sticker (which she is already looking for something to stick it on lol, a receiver switch, and some servo horns. Thanks again.

RE: odessas big pink power boat project
Another update. This MIGHT have turned into a two part project. A forum member offered to send a small v hull. That was before the mixup this morning. So I am not sure if he is still sending it. I also have an opportunity to nab a 48" vee hull in need of minor repair if I can come up with shipping.
So if these work out we are obviously more than set for hulls. So the plan is to build the small vee as an electricn fo her to learn with, and build the big vee as a gas boat for when she is ready

LouisGambini,
The wife said we recieved the $10 for shipping; so i will package up and ship my .12 rigger to you Saturday. When you recieve it, you can post on here that you got it and maybe others on here can help you with the necessary parts to complete the boat. Most costly item will be the engine - you'll be able to puit an aircooled or water cooled .12 engine in it and it should be a blast fo you.
I won a number of 1st places last year w/it and it ran consisntly in the hi 50's - so iy will hang with some others boats out there. Best prop will be something in the 37mm range (I ran a backcut 1440 that was reduced to 37.mm).
DO send me a pic of Odessa and the boat sometime! Merry Chriostmas!

RE: odessas big pink power boat project
Thank you Todd, and thank you everyone for all the help.
Ok, as a recap, advancedbuilder sent props, receiver switch, servo horns, and driver figure. Thanks neil
My brother paid todd shipping for the rigger hull. Thanks vinnie and todd
As it stands for sure right now we are set for the small hull. We have "something" is on the way from joe. And I am expecting a radio from someone to be sent soon.
Got a friend who is going to try to cover the shipping on the big hull, thanks randy

I wanted to ask something, this question is for the guys sending things. Would you like us to open stuff when it gets here, or would you like odessa to wait for christmas to open them?

RE: odessas big pink power boat project
LouisGambini,
I just finished boxing up the rigger and it will go out today. I included the rudder & bracket, a turn fin (that need some filing), 3 sets of sponsons, some boom tubes & brass inserts and a pipe mount. It also has the radio box seals, on-off/switch/antenna. When you get it, I think you'll decide to repaint it (it still has the mud on it from my last crash/last race of the /yr/ into a bank). So you'll have some things to do for a while. Now you need servo's (set up for Hitec HS 85 & HS225, and engine and electronics, and prop and you'll be good to go.
Merry Christmas!

RE: odessas big pink power boat project
Joe, we got the package today. It was funny, we opened one end, and as she started to pull the bag out of the box I made the comment, watch that be the bottom of the bag. Sure enough, she pulled the bag and everything else stayed in the box, lol.
So,to update the list, thanks to joe we now have two metal props, a flex drive cable, some more servo horns, three servos, a big rudder, a couple glo chargers, what I think is a turn fin, a fuel pump, and to be honest, a lot of things that I have yet to figure what they are, lol
Thanks again joe

So that's what those were. I thought they were some kind of drive belt for a system I didn't know anything about

Mathew,If you're going to make a big pink boat ,you'll need some pink pool noodles in it,in case of a roll or flip.I have a pink one and some smaller pink pieces.Enough to keep the big Vee hull from sinking.PM me your address and I'll send it to you.

RE: odessas big pink power boat project
Thanks tidnab, I appreciate it a lot, but things aren't looking good for the big, the people that were going to make that happen have since changed their minds. So I don't want to be greedy and accept anything else for the big boat until I know for sure that we can use it.
Thank you very much though
