Default insane hydro

hey guys im setting up radio box for this gen 2 hull and i found a few site with pics on setups . i noticed they all use what must be a 1/4 scale servo. is this really needed as i have a spectrum servo that is putting out like 72 oz/ in at 4.8v to 88 oz/ in at 6v it seems to move rudder pretty good but is this going to be enough torque?

You don't need a 1/4 scale servo but some prefer the size as the gear train is larger. There are plenty of standard sized servos on the market that can put out as much if not more torque than the big ones. I've seen them with over 300 in. oz. of power.
77-82 oz. in. is not enough. Go with a minimum of 100 oz. in., more preferred, 140 or more is better.
Set up properly, those boats are a dream to drive as I got to do it last year.

The one you mentioned will work fine for the throttle, but a bigger servo will be needed for the rudder, like Ron says.

If your servo is too weak for the rudder, you could end up battling a handling problem, since the servo could move on it's own.
