Time to start Carving & Shredding some foam. 36"float'er up first !
Very fortunate to be able to acquire this High Density 80kg/square polyurethanefoam. Its makes for a stronger board
all round and is so nice to shape......
Happy with the look and feel of the bigger board !......

Clean up laps before glassing the deck with 2 layers of cloth as with bottom.
Have a small corner box to cure boards in the Winter / heater assisted.
Shred Á up for glassing same process as floatér - very nice powder blue

Shaping the POD is perhaps 'more important 'than the board itself - AS - it is the part that is in the water 'the most' - its dynamics plays a very important part in the boards performance overall - especially lifting the board from the water allowing more rail to rail riding - rather than flat two dimensional turns...I use a set of templates and a jig to achieve consistency in the pod's volume and symmetry.

A very nice 'blue ' indeed !
Keep 'podding on ! '
Multiple layers of cloth are layed up over the foam pod - tapering out toward the rail
building strength to the housing base - effectively 7 layers of glass, once complete.

Podding along with the blue bird !.....
multiple layers of cloth make up the strength of the pod and base of the housing.
First filler coat applied to the Green Machine - this coat fills in the texture of the
woven cloth and blends the various layers of cloth - once cured - sanded down
smooth.
Important to establish a level surface for the flow coat or ones rocker will be effected.

Setting out for the housing to be hollowed out
After sanding the initial filler coat - a second coat is applied to fill in any pin
holes and cloth exposed.
To establish the better proportioned / stance Bro - I have started off by making
a new Bro for the 28"board to get a feel for the size and performance - before
making the 36" board size Bro. The structure is the same as the proven layup.

The new 28" board Bro is looking good so far- app. 20% bigger in size overall - fuller in presence - with a slightly different stance.....
Need to get his wetsuite ( neoprene) on and test his surfing ability in the surf 'before'building the Big Brother Bro !

The beat goes on ......
Hollowing out the pod - filler coated the pod / housing and deck.
Foam is left in the front portion of the pod to ensure added strength as the pods nose suggers the most impact in the water.

Looking good is one thing - being functional is the main thing. Water tested the new Bro dude for self-righting and outward centrifugal balance - all good - Lisa-Marie now shaping Bro's head.. to be moulded of polyurethane foam.....
