36"boards Bi-Fin fabrication - aluminium fin /stainless steel shaft - very robust - the foil on the left fin acts to counter the prop rotation torque. Fin allows clean thrust from the prop and better hold in the wave face......

Howzit Geoff ! .....Happy that you like them !.... ..Look and feel real good in-hand...waiting on the last few parts has been somewhat frustrating ( ESC and Props) ....somehow the shipping of parts has taken 'forever'... our custom office informed us that they arrived yesterday- so we are hoping to have it delivered to-day.

Thanks Christian and Thijs ! for the feedback !......Sharing the build process is part of the Bro STOKE for the customer to experience the creation of their Bro. It's also a A -Z window into what all goes into creating an rc Surfer for those who simply have an interest - AND - hopefully ...... an aid and encouragement to anyone else who would like to build an rc Surfer.
I have it in-mind to compile a Bro rc Surfer e-book/DVD with even further details - process's - tutorials and plans of the various Bro rc Surfer models and dudes......
Thijs - great place to start your rc Surfer journey - with a rebuild - I don't know much about the production board 'rebuilds '- never personally owned/surfed one - BUT - if you page through the rc Surfer forum on RCU there are 100's of pages filled with info on how to overcome the many issues..... and plenty of mods to transform the board into a seaworthy shredding rc Surfer of note.....keep us posted !

nice to see the big boys in the water Dom
no added pod weight deepwater self righting reminds me off stock kyosho nqd selfrighting !
anyway noticed you are using a different coupling between motor and prop shaft, looks like a flexy drive type coupling.?
thinking it will give a much better 'keeping shaft centre' than the tendency for a grub screw to locate shaft slightly off center, was wondering how you stop it slipping out if it comes loose, or is the grip from the nut good enough not to worry..
look fwd to seeing them in the waves

Thanks BC .....very happy to see them run so well straight off the bench...I am especially happy with the scale ratio of surfer dude to board size ..
If the coupling is tightened up well it should not slip ( much like a drill chuck) - one can place a piece of silicon tube over the shaft to stop it sliding out 'if' the coupling came lose.
I wont be surfing these two 'in the waves '- they are off to the UK !.......Geoff has patiently waited 'long enough'while I developed them...
I will be starting on a 36" CrackerJack for myself - come Monday !....in the midst of starting a few more orders......two of which are for your shores in OZ !

Once the flat water test's have been carried out successfully......ensuring correct balance..and righting... the Bro surfer dude can be permanently bonded to the hatch cover...using a slow set epoxy.

Dom,
Before getting wet the 28" CrackerJack, would you mind posting the same, below picture?
A picture with the inside layout, considering your LEO 3650 and 4S battery?
Also, please, would mind sharing your configuration: LEO LBP3650/3Y 2450KV, 4S 5000mHa, 430 prop, 120amp ESC, 5.5mm bullet connector? Am I right?
And the last one , how are you holding the lipos? Industrial velcro, or you also add one-wrap straps?
Thanks for this great building thread and looking forward for the board!
Christian.

Howzit Christian !.....as with all the builds ....your build will be flat water tested .....and a housing layout picture will be posted.
The specs are as you have them......add to that I set the timing for a 4s at 0 degress - 3s at 7 degrees......Summer 3.2 v LVC - Winter 3.0 v LVC
I fit Velcro to the surface of the aluminium platform ( each battery has a patch of Velcro stuck to it) the fit is snug between the hatch cover. not requiring a strap.
Water pick-up/outlet tubing and steering push-rod tube - steering servo tray.

Water Proofing the ESC and Steering servo.......don't believe it when they say "waterproof".....it's NOT. Simply using TikTak ( Blue Tak in the US) and insulation tape - proven to work extremely well in surf conditions... for the RX -once connected to the sterring servo and ESC - I wrap it completely in a ball of TikTak - then enclose it in a balloon - tied at the end with a rubber band.....well water tight ! .......for that 'in case moment'
