Some suggestion requested on the older built...
Dumas 44 footer. I bought this yesterday at a RC Model Plane Show. I should say stole this at 25 bucks! I have always wanted to built this model. I have owned the ABS vertion and wasn't happy with it. As you can see it has some hanger rott and has some very older antiquated electronics installed. Not being a big RC boater my question are like this> Should I see if this configuration works? Should I gut the whole interia and start with more modern electronics? SShould I clean it up, fix up the broken parts and display. then start from a new kit scratch? Any info on the motor and volts he may have used would help he has a pigtail battery wire that looks to have three connetors I was guessing three 7.2vdc batteries? Anyone know what voltage that old Vantec can handle?
Thanks for any info steve

I would strip out the old, replace with two motors and ESCs. I would also treat it to a new radio and steering servo. I would either pick the motors to suit the batteries on hand, or start figuring a suitable combination.

RE: Some suggestion requested on the older built...
Thanks It's been nearly two weeks and I have pulled the older components out. The giant wash machine motor weight a ton so to counter it there is a bunch of lead filled epoxy in the stern. I have already removed 18oz of sheet lead. I have info the finished model should be about 8.5lbs and it was 13.8lbs without batteries/battery! Currently the boat is 5.4lbs as empty as it can get. I have order the decals, Deck hardware, motors and gear boxes, speed controls. I am waiting to see the weight before buying batteries for weight purposes. I have stripped it and have found the paint is braking off and the boat was glassed with out cloth. I may just keep sanding till I have not paint left.
