What to do with this boat
So my history of RC is i have played with Nitro cars during my teens, love them but fiddling with carbs was never my fav, I have lately been flying RC planes almost all Electric and love the simplicity.
So I have this boat i Bought it 2 years ago, it needed a new flex cable so i put a new one in but the cables diameter was slightly too small it still works but is loose. I have got the motor going but every time i tried to launch it, it stalled.
I would prefer to make this boat electric but im questioning if the price it will take to get me moving will be worth it.
The boat was a kit from the 80's or 90's it is on the heavy side, but i would prefer a boat that could deal with some chop
The boat is a Scarab 40

You could be running too lean. If you're tuning it like a plane or car, you're way lean and it won't run under load. The way to tell is to start it on the bench and, once running, "mash the gas". If it accelerates smoothly, you're too lean. You need it to be almost "slobbering" rich. If you see fuel/oil coming out of the exhaust, you're probably more in the mixture range needed to keep it running
