Cheap ESC in $50 yard sale Villain IV
Hello all,
I recently got a pretty cool yard sale find on a Villain IV for $50. It's in really good shape and looks to be all the original gear. It has the orange ESC with the 2 large heat sinks. No optional water cooling in this one. I was wondering if I got an inexpensive dual motor ESC from Amazon if it would allow me to run 2 higher capacity batteries than the original ESC. I have 2 batts that are 3000mAh. I understand when this model came out batts were only up to about 1500mAh so running 2 of this type might eventually overheat the old ESC. I also know I can run just one batt at a time but, was really hoping to run the 2 for maximum time.
The ESC I'm looking at is only $12.99 with free shipping! I'm trying to keep this project as cheap as possible. I'm not allowed to post links yet but, if you search Amazon for
Thanks in advance!

The linked ESC https://www.amazon.com/Alloet-7-2V-1.../dp/B074V5BNM7 is basically two ESCs sharing a single control input so the two motors act as one and a single battery connection so the single battery needs to be capable of supplying both motors. A more modern ESC is likely to have vastly better output transistors and be more efficient, generating a lot less heat.
