I should have finished reading your post before being so hasty to answer. Front exhaust points towards the front of the hull and (of course) rear exhaust points the pipe straight back out of the hull. A rear exhaust motor works best in a scale hydro as it fits everything under the cowling and the turbine area. A hot motor that is being run on the west coast now is the Kalistratov ("K") motors made Russia or whatever they call that place this week. They are available through Al Hobbs.
