Hi fish

What I am finding.

I have only 5 cycles on these packs

I am running 3S 1800mAh NANO ( 2 in Parallel) 3600mAh
set LVC ( low voltage cutoff) at 3.7 v's
When I'm done = 14 minutes of riding - Voltage = 11.1v's (80%) BUT i use 1850mA recharge per pack. (more than 100%) ???????

Regards

Hi Guys

Finally - Got to the beach to-day !

ONSHORE waves - ONSHORE wind - made the best of it.

Already have a few - "Can I buy one ? ...............................LOL -the beach cam e to a stand still.

Short vid
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6f3uVOCSdU

Good news :

No water in the board - not a drop
ran for 8 1/2 minutes ( video bat ran out) ONLY used 1040 mA of a 3600mA pack ( should do more than 20 minutes.

Pushing my CG closer to 50% ( two bat packs in front of motor. Will see what its like tomorrow.

Thanks for the tips guys. He self rights face down 100% and but back side 80% of the time, but with some throttle he gets up.

I'm ready to test him out tomorrow morning. I should have some video too. Hopefully not an epic fail.

Thanks for all the help!

Looks good Powerpark, nice and clean andsimple in the radio compartment.
Your deck seal looks like it should be replaced.
Is the tube sticking out the rail a cooling outlet tube?? may drag in the water and also appears to cut off straight, passing water may not allow the "exhaust" to exit cleanly.

Hoping to hear how the sea trials go!

Got a new Venom 3Ch trans and reciever delivered yesterday, gotta see how my sail winch reacts to the 2 position 3rd. channel for moving the figure from tail to nose on my longboard.
Started a figure yesterday, looks like rain today so may just get some progress made on this build!!

Surf on and keep 'em coming!!!

Hey thanks Saildoggie,
I wil take that advise and cut off the outlet pipe. Thanks I was going to use packing or hockey tape to seal the hatch.
I want to get thumb screws for the hatch. I will be easier to remove less using a screwdriver. It snowed today. Soon it will be spring and than the test trials will begin. This forum is a huge help and loads of fun to read!! I now have 300 dollars into the board. And I think its worth every penny.

You want to cut off the outlet pipe at a 45% angle leaving the long end toward the front, this creates kind of a vacuum of any passing water, careful work with a razor saw can do this.

Having a good seal on the hatch is very important, relying on tape is not so good.

Maybe find an indoor pool for some testing with the snow and all?

Hey All!

Things seem slow this weekend so I thought I would post a few more photos for your viewing pleasure.[8D]

Thursday evening session at WindanSea was captured by a professional photographer, Aaron Goulding. He was generous enough to share some of the better photos from that impromptu session with me...

That all I got for now...sure makes me want to get back out there!

Awesome pics Kite! Some huge air too!
Big, thick, closed out and rough surf there.
Imagine how cool it is in clean, peeling waves.

Finally got some work done on teh longboard, installed the transport tubes for the Dyneem lines that will move my figure on the track on the deck and glassed the deck..getting there.

Biggest distraction is our dogs, they wanna be in the middle of everything and wanna be out front when it's nice.
Even with the "trolly" system I put together they need seem sort of attention every time I get into something!

These two are too spoilt:

Hopefully more building later today...BroDown 2, let's do this thing!!

Powerpark,
Nice job on your rc surfer and web page. It should work fine. Like Doggie said make sure your deck seal is good.

Hey thanks guys! I installed fly sky lipo's in the boat. 40 C 7.4 volts. I tested it in my workshop. Wow the prop pushed so much air if felt like a fan. This board is going to fly. Im simi new to lipo's so I installed the battery in my old xxt losi truck. Wow the power and run time is huge. How many batterys so you guy take per day at the ocean? Or do you recharge at the beach? I was going to use a aluminium servo holder out of my 12 th scale car. I may still do that. . Thanks.

depends how keen you are to how many packs you want :-) ... I take 6 packs out on average sometimes 8 packs if the conditions are good.

Hi Guys !

Lovely 'ACTION' creative pics Kite !

Ended the weekend of at Long Beach - 2 - 4 ft surf
Felt like the 'PIED PIPER" of surf on the beach.
Man the folk just loved it !
Lisa-Marie is managing to capture the 'action' quite well.

http://youtu.be/Gy9XGfr2Btk

Awesome run times in the surf - 3600mAh ( 2C 1800 mAh 2P) = 25 minutes

Of on a weeks family vacation this morning "Sun City" - cant wait to get back - to hit the surf .................................................. LOL

Well I took him out twice this weekend and had a blast. The surfboard ran fine but the surfer kept breaking down. I broke 3 of the 4 tie down points so he was out of balance most of the time. I think I might try to make a foam surfer.
My wife took some video but only managed to keep it on him for 1 1/2 waves worth of footage.
Thanks for all the help guys. It's really one of the best RC things to play with.

This forum is like an addiction once you get going.  It took me a week to read it all through and I finally found the measurements for Jimis' reverse rocker and several other choice mods.  I have to applaud all those before me for their hard work to get surfers really surfing.  Once I have all of the parts I will begin working the changes to my surfers.  I have two to do at the same time.  Looking for a Dude so I have a girl and a guy.  Does anyone have a dude that you would be willing to sell me?

Can someone also give me the English measurements for the neoprene washers for the deckoutside, inside and thickness.  The places I found on the web only list them in English and not metric.  Thanks in advance.

the soft neoprene washers dont screw done very tight. they tend to twist and bend out of shape. the original o rings actually work great with bit of grease on them.

I use the neoprene rubber seal off roofing screws which are a harder density allows you to screw down alot tighter. hole is 4mm ........outside dia 10mm.

i have seen sebs (skowolski) board run with the original rubber oring washers and it runs great..

another thing that i tryed and works really well was ordering oring style washers same size as stock ones but just geting 4mm or 3mm thick in stead of the 1mm thick like the stock ones

roofing washer / neoprene washer / stock oring washer
