Thanks surfcurls,
John has the nack of being in the right place at the right time.
Timing is everything, not to mention the fact we video everything we do.
Got more good video from that day of Hugh, John and me. We will
post the rest after editing. Long Runtimes, Jock

Maui crew.....nice video

I was out today trying to dial in some issues I still have with my new board...

#1 solved!

Esc overheating...I took apart a SeaKing 120A Esc and changed the heat sink..

I used a heat sink from etti

http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...prod=etti-a044

I used special thermal grease between the ESC and heat sink

http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...d=rad-276-1372

fresh heat shrink wrap

Installed dual water pickups to the ESC and dual exhausts...runs dead cold!

Maybe the dual pickups/exhaust were overkill...ESC runs dead cold!

I tried to run it hard!

On the motor side...I upgraded the cooling as well.

It had its own water pickup and exhaust already installed and a custom made water cooling jacket for the Turngy Trackstar motor I am running...

I installed these High Flow fittings on the water jacket:

http://kintecracing.com/Water_Cooling_BQFJ.html

Super cool vendor, fast shipper, lots of goodies

Motor ran dead cold!

Issue #2 ??????????

I think Tina is also a free diver....or a pearl diver...not sure whats shes up to?

every now and again...she ends up like this....and just sits there????????Until a wave comes along and then she s up and atom.

This was not happening with Melika. Tina started doing this with her last board, usually happens after a large jump with flipping motions or after a rollo move...not always though.

has anyone experienced this?

Issue #3

The dreaded motor hop....

But get this...I only get the hop in one direction...Lefts

Runs real strong on Rights and straightaways.

Am I correct in assuming that I have not put in enough JIMI Rocker on one side? The Left side?

Gonna have to look at it more closely.

Well, the fun never stops does it! Now that the cooling issue is dealt with the other issues are minor....

GOOD! because I have the next two days off ...yep,you guessed it I'm a Rc Surfing.

I plan on going to Oceanside and check out the site of Bro Down #2 and pick up my custom blank.

weather is warming and the Surf outlook...FAIR to GOOD tomorrow(oh heck..today...gotta get some zzzz's) , Fair on Thursday,

Sort of a mini vacation...going to stay north of Del Mar until Friday when I have to be back at work.

lol my vacation will be taking place 15-35 miles from my home. At least if I get homesick or can't find a 'good' Adobada Burrito I am only 30minutes away!

See ya in the Surf!

hi guys

I recently sent a msg to the admins about having our own Rc Surfing section but got no response. With all this talk of people wanting to find info on this thread it got me thinking.....we deserve our own website!!

I have created a websitecalled RC SURFERS WORLDWIDE heres the link http://********s.freeforums.org

im not saying we all have to make it our home but i think it would be a great 2nd home of our own. we can have as many categoriesas we want for all the different modds for each surfer and i think it would be easyer for new rc surfers to find exactly what they are looking for.

I have only just made it so if any one has any suggestions for new sections or catergories please post in the suggestions category on the website. Feel free to post the link to the website on youryoutube vids etc the more the better

would be cool to have a catergory of builders/shapers etc

DONT FORGET TO JOIN PLZ!!! :-)

Hi KIte

Greta pics once again ! - you definitely seem to 'build more' and 'play more' than any of us .................................................. .. great role model..............LOL

With regards your 'Self Righting ' ............. its simply that your Diva does not have enough 'BUOYANCY' to initiate the rotation.

Solution : either add more flotation to her as close to her head as possible (bigger breasts LOL) / or make the Board lighter.

The hopping could be ?

-a combination of prop thrust rotation been directed by the rudder ( try a different rudder shape that never had the same issues)
-it could be to little / or even to much rocker on that side.
-it could also be that the V angle is different.
-it could also be that the outer fin - on that side has a different toe/cant degree setting.
-it could be that the Thrust line is not 'dead in line' with the rudder.
-it could be that the rudder is not 'absolutely perpendicular'

Simple solution : ride straight and right................................LOL

Regards
Bro'Surfer

I think a forum specific to rc surfing is a very good idea , in France we have done the same since September 2008,
there are 130 members

our address: http://********.*****.fr/index.php

there are lots of details on every specific issue, so easily found.

Example: Changing NQD:

http://********.*****.fr/t34-NQD-Lis...ar-Happy78.htm

good luck !

Hi Cananzi

Please help

Often today when I tried to Login - with e-mail address and password ( with auto log in selected ) it just repeats the request for the Login process - does not open the forum

The other concern I have.

Do we hasve to go to the home page 'scan all the topics' to see if any one has started a new topic or added to one ? If so - that could be quite a process and not allow for our forum to be more of the "Chat Room" it currently is on RCU.

I see the logic ( and need) to document all that we are doing in a better fashion - BUT - is there any way I can be 'informed' of a new thread and update other than going into every one and indicating to be notified - when I have been norified - its been quite a process to get it - certainly no quicker or better than RCU

curly

it will be a long process trying to get all the info over to the rc surfer worldwide website but i might just start copying and pasting things over to threads on there to start to get info going. like i said it can just be a second home ,one thats a lil more tidy lol
imagine if our websiteownwas done earlyer!! it would be an absolute text book of rc surfing lol

maybe you could put your own Surfcurls thread?? in the classifieds section. the when your selling boards you throw them in your thread

ypc

once logged in ,if there is a thread that has been posted or there is a reply the circle catergory icon (circle with the arrow) will be lit up bright blue to show there is unread stuff in that catergory. if there is a certin catergory that you are involved with frequently you could subcribe.

login problems
could be something to do with your cookies maybe? Try deleting your browser historyalong with all the cookies retrying.

I see your point about it not being like a chat room enviroment. I am working on the instant chat fuction on there maybe that might help a lil. general discussion section should be the main sort of chat area like we have going on in here.

glad you guys are for it. i probly should of asked before doing it. after posting to the admins on here about more sections and not getting a response i thought..............we deserve/need our ownwebsite.

You got in going on !

Cut and paste is the way to go. Just have to weed thru the best info...
I don't think anyone in here thought this forum would become so active / addictive.
Heck we celebrated 100 pages not to long ago, and about to hit 200 ???
You did the right thing, and you did it right. Cheers to that.

I think we can all have some fun with the classified section.
Another page in the book has been written !

for YPC "Bro'Surfer"

I like your work very métiuleux and I think it will be very interesant to sell a dvd that shows the manufacture of the board and the dude with neoprene.
But I think it need to attach a plan on paper manufacturing to help us.
I attached a picture plane that I found ur ebay explaining the manufacture of a rc surfer called Arthuro dating from 07.97, ela can inspired your thinking.

Otherwise I think it would be nice to sell your bro man separately.
I am personally interested and I think others in the French site, as the sound (you can do a bulk order!)

has a future reading

Hi Brice !

Thank you for the 'compliments !' - I do appreciate it.

I will certainly consider a 'Build DVD' in the future - with some plans and templates ( good idea) and a few formula's to drive you crazy.......that hopefully help....once they make sense............LOL

I am collecting plenty of photo's and info - the DVD certainly seems to be the best way to contribute toward the sport and to me ' Custom Building seems to be the better overall solution'

Once you see how - its really quite easy - just requires plenty of TIME and PATIENCE ! - no 'special' skills or tools needed. - mistakes dont cost a lot of money - other than your time.

My effort 'by design' with the rc Bro' Surfer - is to develop a rc surfer that is as simple and affordable as possible - yet being well functional and reliable.

The great thing about being able to 'DO IT YOURSELF' is that it can cost less than $200 to build a great Custom rc Surfer.

The other great thing is that the Foam and Glass fiber are ' cheap' so if you dont get the first board correct - its easy to build another one - and its a hole lot of fun.

I would be happy to sell the Bro' separately - ( you can PM me for more pricing info)

The 'Bulk Order' may work out cheaper for shipping - but - each Bro' is still individually 'hand made' so the discount wont be all that much.

Merci !

Regards
Dominic - Bro'Surfer
