RE: RC Surfer
Hi Guys,
Just thought I would give you all a bit of a laugh.
Here is my latest communication with Mars.
Hello Frank or Ivan whoever you are.
This is Jimi Findrix from spend a ****load on RC Surf.
I want to buy 6 RC Surfers in white plastic and I want them 100% UNASSEMBLED.
That is NOT GLUED, NOT SCREWED, and NOT STICKERED.
I actually do not believe you can deliver what I want at all.
I will only pay by Paypal or Escrow.
I bet you only accept Western Union don't you?
But if you actually can get me what I want then send me a photo of an UNASSEMBLED WHITE NQD SURFER AND A PRICE and allow me to pay with PayPal.
Can't do it after all can ya?
Thanks
Kyle
Ha Ha Ha
Seems it is not so simple after all SEBSKI bro.
SCAMMERS EVERYWHERE.
Glass this morning but pretty flat and nothing on offer, GOING MAD!!!
Sea Ya.

RE: RC Surfer
Alright guys,
Here is the responce.
Ha Ha Ha
I am starting to wonder if the whole Alibaba is just a scam.
Seb, I tried several times to make contact with the sales manager MR Bryant Yeh from Chenghai PengCheng Ind. Co. Ltd.
The company that you put me onto.
He never even responds.
I did get an email frome [email protected] and [email protected] which I am sure you are aware are other fronts for the same company.
Well, Grace tells me she can only get assembled surfers and only accepts payment by Western Union.
If these guys really are the manufacturers of the Surfer then it should not be a problem for them to sell a few in an unassembled condition.
What a load of BS.
It seems it is virtually impossible to source RC Surfers from the actual manufacturer, whoever they really are.
Mars sucks and so does Leaky Martian Garbage.
Ha Ha Ha.

Jimi, you might just have towait for the wombarra crew to start pumping out boards and forget about trying to get assembled or unassembled boards from China.
How did you go with you flexishaft set up?

RE: RC Surfer
Hi Seb,
I have not done one yet because the Hexflex couplers are not here yet.
I have one shaft and 5 props here now.
The coupler that did arrive was that one with grub screws, it is a tiny bit shorter than the Kyosho coupler.
It did not fit at first because it is brass and was chrome plated.
I got a 1/8 drill bit and gently shaved out the chrome inside now it fits both motor and flexi end.
I was thinking of trying it in my current board as I think the shaft and coupler will fit in my Kyosho tube that is already n the board.
Yeah Mars is not happening man.
Sea Ya.

I have already tested to see,if you got the same shafts from cornwell uk site that seb recommended , the flexi shaft wont fit the kyosho tubebecause the solid part of the flexi shaftis not long enough. Roughly about 5-10 mm of the flexi end sits inside the kyosho tube.

.Sebski,
Same here bro.
I keep lookin' but it has been pretty bad.
I don't wanna even send the Dude out unless it's lookin' reasonably good.
Looks like another week off howling southerlies here.
Goggz,
About the new board stock.
Somehow I thought you might say that.
Looks like the Dude on that thing is doin' ballet or somethin'.
Ha Ha Ha.
Hey mate, how did the manta ray fin test?
Sea ya.

RE: RC Surfer
Kindred Spirits,
After seaing Goggz great looking new "Surf-Nazi" board earlier today, I decided to do a bit more work on my Kyosho Lisa.
Painted the rails this evening.
Should look good in the water.
Still have a bit to do before I take her for a test run.
Going well so far.
Anyone bought one of those bizarre Martian spaceships yet?
Ha Ha Ha, what a joke!!!
The thing probablyshreds better than a Kyosho RC Surfer being operated by Spencer Johnson, NOT!!!
Sea ya crew.

RE: RC Surfer
Seb,
Well, I got home from work today and the 3 couplers that I ordered had arrived.
I openned the package and could not believe it.
They sent me three the same as the one I got the other day, the one with 4 grub screws.
I am a little pissed off because the picture they used to advertise it was the screw on type like you use.
As these are even shorter than the Kyosho ones there is no need to drill out the hull.
However, I am now uncertain if the shaft I ordered will reach far enough out of the hull.
What a hassle.
I will be writing to the store that sold these and letting them know they are not what I ordered.
What a freakin' drama.
Sea ya.

RE: RC Surfer
Jimi,
It's likedivineintervention is preventing you from having a flexishaft set up..... If you had a 5mm motor shaft end I'd just give you one of mine out of sympathy.
Send an email to the shop and complain.
The surf here is just as bad as in WA, onshore choppy surf everyday....annoying.
Goodluck buddy,
Seb

RE: RC Surfer
Sebski,
All is not lost bro, I just had a look and I can still use the propshaft in my Kyosho stuff tubes. (Despite what Cananzi said the other day)
The coupler I have will fit the Kyosho stuff tubes I use.
They should be fine because they don't have bushings like the ones you use with the holes in.
My whole tubes are the same diameter as the bushings in your tubes!!!
Yes, a small amount of the flexi-end sits inside the tube but that really does not matter as it makes no contact with the tube.
The ones with bushings in the end that you use are obviously better due to less friction.
But the result is I can still use the flexi-end shaft you are using with my stuff tube and coupler and it will work fine.
So while it is not the best outcome I still have a flexi coupler setup that will work and I don't need to drill out the hulls.
I am thinking I might get some slightly larger diameter brass tubing and cut to the same length as my Kyosho tubes and use small sections of my Kyosho tubes as bushings.
Then I will have less friction in the tube and a flexi set up that fits without drilling out the hulls or soldering over holes in the tube.
I really didn't want to drill out the Kyosho hull anyway.
I am going to fit it to my current board this evening and will give it a test run when a suitable time arises.
I think I just need to find some brass tubing that a Kyosho tube fits inside and make my own stuffing tube with bushings.
Just hope the grub screws don't **** up the flexi end too much.
The way I sea it, any flexi coupler set up is better than any direct coupler especially once you are running on LiPo.
I did send an email expressing my disappointment to the seller of the couplers for using the misleading picture in the advertisement.
Fingers crossed bro.
