Hey Curly Fry's

I see you have found my address- got your short mail.

Good to see that the Global build crew are 'going' ahead.

As they say TOMAATO /TAMATO - as long as a rc surfer comes out the other end - all is good.

I'm going for the 'female mold type production' gel and vacuum form GRP system, as from my experience - it is easier- less skill required- it will offer better better product consistency and eliminates a number of process's that will be required, if the board is going to be of any colour and high gloss Finnish.
Looking at pictures 'white boards get lost very easy' I want to go for some 'bright colours' on the boards - bright yellow - lime green - bright red - its also good if a few boards are out in a session, to be able to tell them apart 'quickly'
Having much 'open' space inside the board will also allow for one to play around with the layout for balancing with weights and possible added batt. packs etc
Some Polyurethane foam can be used to fill the dormant spaces for flotation.

Hi Cananzi

I reckon a new thread would be a great start - it will be awesome to have the thread dedicated to pure 'riding' for one to demonstrate moves and for others to show of there attempts and get a Global rating. this is when choice names could be created ' by all' - A move could be named after the individual who perfected it or by what it depicts.........
We could even have a RCU rc surfer 3 monthly comp - where after every 3 months ( every 1/4) you put together a maximum of 5 minutes recording of your best rides, those registered on the thread then give each video a rating.
Highest score - you are rated as the RCU King of rc Surf !!!!!!

That would bring the Bro Down to all Globally - 'in a very special kind of way'

I'll leave it for those already up and ridding to establish - if not - I will be sure to get a thread going once I can stand up on my YPC board ...............................LOL

WHOOOOA! Worth waiting for the vid, awesome stuff John!
I did previously place a disclaimer that Justin-San's board handled way differently than mine and really did not try to run over that Grommet...

Just showed the vid to the Missus, she now understands what this is all about!!

Thanks so much everyone for spare parts and letting me run your boards after mine went down, especially you John, Bad Apple as bad Ass!!!

VERYAWESOMEVid indeed!

Great footage guys - Its awesome to see a group of rc surfers gathered and shredding ! Great beach - great conditions !

Maui - I like the way you have introduced the guys and there surfers - great editing !
What type of camera was used ?

Thats the type of footage that would be great to use as a 'Entry' for a quarterly Global RCU rc surf Contest - perhaps only 1 & 1/2 minutes long - which would be a minimum of 5 - 10 solid recorded rides. We could specify a Specific Size video- so as to ensure a fast download.

Cananzi - that move could be called the 'Butt-Jump' - unfortunately 'NO POINTS' .................................. LOL

Itsfishi - Looking at some of the resulting wipeouts in the footage its clear that the rc surfer takes a hammering.
I will certainly be selling our 'flexible' Bro' surfer as a seperate item.
I will work out an accurate costing - including postage to Aus. Please mail me direct - so that I can send you more details and better pics.
What material is your radio box deck surface ( plastic or Gel) -

Wasnt sure how to put up photo so did it twice ha. made a brass rudder to replace the rusty old pizza tray one that got bashed on the rocks last week, im keen to see how the fin shape works. looks more the part anyway just hope it works good. did a new wiring harness to shorten the amount of wire like dom was saying. amazing how much wire was in there when i added it all up, have reduced the total length of wire in the harness by 35-40cm and 2 sets of connectors, heaps neater.
will get it in the water tomorrow and see the difference, cant wait.

later have a good one

Your Bad Apple board is a freaking rocket ship on steroids man!

Hoping to have spare boards ready for next BroDown, an A,B and C board, MUST make a fish like yours!!

People I show your video to are blown away by not just the RC Surfing but the production and quality of your work.

Hey itsfishi

All looks great - I have no doubt you will reap the rewards to-morrow - that's some serious 'resistance' you have removed from the loom.
It will be interesting to realise the resultant increased running time. The batts should also be cooler.

I've got to complete the process of fitting the two part head onto the body - having it filled with Polyurethane foam. - happy with the final result - very buoyant !
Its bonded to a wide piece of the silhouette's head shape - so its going now ware. The actual joint is pretty smooth/matching well and the paint colour will hide it.

I'm changing the pose of Bro - to better suite the overall look - and I am going to make his neoprene body even more 3 dimensional.
I now have Bro' standing at 300 mm tall and his stance is 180 mm (between the center points of his feet) You could attach the aft foot deck velcro strap to the rudder hatch.
having his foot back on the tail 'just looks right.
Something that I picked up watching the vid - is the 'proportional ratio between the rider and board.
I can see that a bigger board is 'more' visible - and - I reckon a bigger rider will also add value to the visual impact whilst surfing- as well as improve the proportional ratio.
I can understand that a taller rider would seemingly have more of a outward centrifugal effect in the sharp turns - but if he is light - it could work.

Still love to know - What is the weight of the standard DUDE - ?????? - with all his body parts.

MY PARCEL IS IN JHB - WILL BE IN CAPE TOWN TO-MORROW - Hope it will clear through customs ASAP.

Hi dom, went for a spin this morning and all went well, had a little longer run time but had a diff prop from timing it last time. so hard to tell the difference. going back for another run soon but surf is @#$% and its getting windy. Curly or jimi should have a figure lying around they could weigh. i also would like to know what others weigh but including the deck lid, just to compare.

cheers

p.s the head reminds me of spickoly (sean Penn) from fast times at ridgemint high. lol. looks great
