Maui John,
Thanks for making that video, and for the camera work!
I put the old orange model on the shelf a few years ago, maybe it need to get back in the water Lol  That was my first brushless model.
The 38" model (red and yellow) is still my best model. 5s with a 2200kv

How is  Maui that glassy? Are you sure you guys are not in Ca. Are you still under all that vog?  Kona conditions rule!  I wonder what Stone Shacks and Shipwrecks look like?

Thanks again,   GREAT VIDEO!!

Dom - adjust trim tab .....rc surfing getting religious.....
a good friend of mine tried to patent such a design back in early 80's windsurfers - called it "Tinkler Tail" - it did work - but never made it to mainstream production boards.

Here is a 4 shot sequence of MJ on the Green Dart - you can still see him behind the wave curtain.
Shot these yesterday at Mud Flats using Canon 60D with 200mm 2.8f lens

Hugh,
Who is in the water with a camera?

Those are great shots! Back in the day a Hawaiian fisherman pulled a huge Ahi off that beach.

YPC, i think MJ has your solution to filming real surfing in big waves, QUAD COPTER!! Always on the cutting edge, great job MJ.

Karl,
What have you been up to, besides ripping mudflats? Your model looks like it loves the tube!! What is inside that ripper?
John,
That Quad copter is unreal! Did you get any video from that session?
Hugh,
Your camera takes amazing photos, you must know what you are doing behind the lens! Great Job!

Green Flash Rips!!!
Aloha,

Howzit Hugh !......great shots !.......I like the name 'Tinkler' for the trim tabs - for those of us who enjoy 'Tinkering !

rcResinator......Quad Copters have been used for some time over here in film sequences and photography shoots, but are very susceptible to the wind and very limited to the payload they can carry effectively. We are using camera's weighing over 2kg's ( 5lbs) They are also seen as a serious HAZARD - buzzing around 'real surfers'.....so not really an ideal.

Looking forward to seeing some of MJ's rcSurfing aerial footage

Bro '

JIMI has already given me a Big High 5 !.......

MJ thanks for posting our shared wave (Karl on MJ Nikon camera with 400mm lenzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!)
I remember that wave, as we were so close on takeoff and the wave went on forever.
Were there any shots from begin of that wave?
Will have to add some color to the carbon swallow - would be invisible on a big blue wave.

Man.....
You guys are just surfing your brains out..........

I tested my modifications to InDaTube today.......... What a differenceIII

Leopard Motor / Nano-Tech 5S Batteries. Huge performance increase and my runtime is 35 minutes + and came in at 18.81 volts.

Don't ya just love Tinkering?

Special Thanks to KiteHook for helping me test fit the Nano-Tech Lipo's.......

InDaTube Update........

Here are some photos of my Stuffing Tube Bearing Project.
Goal:
[*]Protect main stuffing tube from wear[*]Create an easily removable/replaceable bearing cartridge insert[*]Design to include full floating bearing surfaces[*]Maintain close tolerance fit for the prop shaft/bearig[*]Improve sealing for grease retention and water intrusion.[*]Fast easy re-greasing allowing use of less grease for better performance[/list]

Testing Results: Work so well it's just STUPID!!!!!!!
The full floating design even automatically takes up the required 2.5mm flex cable gap!
