Default Finally BoardShark time

Bear,
It wont stop dumping SNOW here, its a ridiculous winter. I am ready for some summer, it would be great if the snow stays in the Mountains.

I got around to working on this Shark...Yay
I cut up a few plates of metal, and I also cut a big ugly hole in the deck of the board.

Ronk- Looking Good !! If you run into any clearance problems you should be able to flip both servo arms and run the pushrod on the rail side.
You also want the arms to be parallel, and the pushrod to be at 90 degrees to the arm in the center position.

The past few days of rain have dissipated and another stunning sunny day appeared at dawn !....missed the high tide by 2 hours this afternoon - surf a touch far out- difficult to 'sea - but - still managed to squeeze a few waves out of the session...(Sun + Fun + Family + Friends) = Great Life ...

nice work on the shark.
just in case you feel as though there is so much work and re-work to get it going, and maybe feel a bit snowed under, try this quick vid

So I flipped both of the servo arms to the rail side but the dude wouldn't turn all the way. I did leave the arm on the servo on the rail side and the dude servo arm back and I now have maximum movement with more clearance than I thought I would.

The Shark in that video you posted is how it started, I found a Board Shark at a discount store here in Canada (Winners) for $20. When I got home I googled "Board Shark MOD" and found this site. I enjoy to surf for real and I work for an Canadian Airline, I ended up flying to Maui for a week and met up with some good guys on this site. From there K-H2o had the Board Shark in that YouTube vid and after trying out the different variations from Maui RC Surfer I came up with this....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0vGdpukpRM I was thinking on giving my dude a GoPro head..
I think I am ready to clean my Shark up and seal it with epoxy and I should be ready to rock..

P.S. I love the SNOW!!

Heres a pic of added weight . Stock steel was 157g. I ended up putting 258 g back with gorilla glue. I have a flex shaft combo heading my way . Does anyone have a pic of a leopard motor mounted .

Howzit Darkseacret !... I do solid mount my Bro Surfer dude using epoxy. But !... it is a flexible dude, capable of absorbing the impact. If your figure is rigid - there is a good chance it will break at some point, not having any movement to absorb the impact.

Speaking of which ...it dawned on me today ! that whilst I'm out having my afternoon fix / workout/session - surf permitting ! - some good folk are stuck in the traffic - patiently waiting to get home...

Nick did some 'deep sea fishing'.....

100 A's will be absolutely fine - what make of esc are you looking at - The only esc that has caused me grief has been the Birdie Range - I got what I 'didnt' pay for ...very poor quality....
