Default Just a Fun boat?

In the past r/c airboat has only been known as a fun boat or a boat for someone to get started with r/c boats. In the past couple of years a organization for the airboats has started, The MABA (Model AirBoat Association). The MABA has hosted 4 race/meets as to date and has one set for Saturday 05/26/2007 - Monday 05/28/2007 [link=http://m-ab-a.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=376&sid=a9d8c381a7f02657086a3f6ab7e69e40]More Information[/link] Get a chance of meeting some great people and have a fun weekend of friendly racing. [link=http://m-ab-a.com/Gallery/MABA_Races]Past Events[/link] We have boats from .15nitro to 42cc gasoline, racing at speeds of 20mph to 30mph with the basic flat bottom boats. Home made hulls, custom built and factory built all are welcome. Oval and drag racing events, speed and time records. R/C airboats are growing out of being just a fun boat.
The airboats are getting much better speeds now than what they were getting in the past, they are also getting stronger, able to run dry ground, climb hills, jump from a dock into the water, run in the same places as r/c cars and r/c water prop boats with out being limited to either. Many of the airboaters are working hard at getting the top speed records, at the moment, 48.7mph. A new record is planned to be set at the NFMABA race at 60+mph.

I think there will be some new records at this next race . We have a new lap timer for our oval track layout.
I have seen Mr Cajun Gators boat run at 48.7mph and i think it will hit 70mph.

The style of hull that has a lot of surface area, has a better chance of blow overs, the outrigger style would be very hard to blow it over, and it would be extreamly nice if I had a rigger that was fast enough to blow over.
