Default DC Electric waterpumps?

Does anyone know where to get small dc electric waterpumps that will run on "AA" batteries?

Thanks!

hi
is this for a bilge pump or you can put the sensor in the water, the pump will run all the time or put a on off switch on a servo to turn on and off at the radio rye

I wish they would get these back in stock. It seems like they have been out of stock for a while now.

fun4ej,

Go to http://www.allelectronics.com and do a search on the word 'PUMP'. You'll get this item: PRECISION MICRO AIR PUMP
CAT# PMP-6.

It runs on six volts DC, and pumps water just fine. I actually set it up and tested it on a pair of AA batteries, and it seemed happy running there, too. The same item is available on another website for $4.95, but they are out of stock on them. http://www.skycraftsurplus.com/index...ROD&ProdID=938

THese are little tiny things. THey'd fit in just about any boat. I'm not sure they'd work very well as a bilge pump, though. I can imagine that the valves inside are very tiny, and wouldn't be happy about a twig or part of a leaf getting in them.

Just a thought for you: I built a small copper 'sea chest'--a simple copper box with a relatively large (3/8) inlet, and run the water through a filter to remove leaves, twigs, etc. before it gets to the sea chest. Then I pump the water from the sea chest to cool my motors. I put the twin ESC's on the outside of the sea chest with heat sink paste. The little pump runs on a dedicated set of 'C' cells with a separate switch. It pulls in water, cools the sea chest, which cools the ESC's, then goes on to cool the motors. It seems to work fine.

If that's not enough volume for you, and you have battery power to spare, you can get a small pump that operates on 12VDC from West Marine. http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs...allpartial/0/0

This pump is a serious little pump. IT's also a little pricey, and they don't like salt water. (Experience on a real boat). If you're running a fire monitor or some other kind of water cannon, this pump will supply plenty of water. It's a 'positive displacement' pump, meaning you have to mount it below the waterline. It won't self prime worth a &#@(%#.

Hope this helped a little...
