Grim props?
Now that the Grim racer props are out and in circulation what do people think of them?
From what I have seen most people still use the Octura props. I'd like to hear from people that have used them and what they think of them?

RE: Grim props?
i have two of them, the 40-42/3, and the 40-53. i have several octuras as well. in my opinion, these are a superior piece, they were almost perfect balance,(i ran them without checking, no problems.) they have a great finish,(saved me an hours worth time or more, compared to an octura), and just all around seem like a nice piece. i have no radar numbers, but they perform well in comparison on my nitro supervee 27.......
i will be buying another one as well, without a doubt...

RE: Grim props?
They all seem to be pretty much the same, as far as my experience goes. I have several Octuras and several Grims. What I like the best, and use the most, is CF props. VERY strong, lightweight, they don't need sharpening or balancing, and they're 1/4th the cost of metal props. I actually get out of the hole quicker with a non-metal prop due to less rotating mass that the engine has to get spinning. CF's are good to go out of the box, and all metal props (factory stock, not aftermarket balanced/sharpened) require balancing, sharpening,a nd the shiny finish has to be dulled for best performance. Pop on a CF and you're ready to go. Nick a blade, and it's FAR less painful to chunk it and throw a new one on. plus, you can have a nice selection of different props to experiment with.

For the price, you don't have the hassle of sharpening, balancing and polishing them in most cases. I did get a 67mm prop yesterday for one of my gas boats just to see how it'll do. It did have a some molding flash on it but it wasn't a big deal. I also had to open up the drive dog slots a hair to fit on my Octura drive dog but that only took a few seconds to do with my Dremel.

RE: Grim props?
I use them on my WT .18. They are great...way less to do on them than the Octuras.
