Online purchase Octura parts
I want to purchase some octura parts for my micro hydro and hydromite builds.
OSE doesnt have what I want. Tower doesnt carry Octura. Im not even going to bother with my LHS anymore as it takes them a month to get parts with very poor communication.
I went to purchase a handful of parts on E bay from Hong Kong and the guy wants me to pay $35 shipping on $27 worth of small parts (and hes overpriced or retail on everything).
Im getting a bit disgruntled as it seems every place wants to way overcharge on shipping or wants retail or more. What gives? Being an online store theres next to no overhead. Im baffled.
If anyone has any links to good sites to purchase from that wont rail me on shipping, please post them.

Here are 2 more suppliers (and both will balance & sharpen for you etc). Their turnaround time is under 1 week in the U.S.
1) Mark Sholund www.props4u.com
2) Chris Hoffman www.dasboata.com

Thanks for this piece of advice! I didnt know you could buy direct. I will begin doing this instead.
The E Bay guy lowered his shipping down to $12.50 so I made good on the buy it now's I did. I thought it read in the auctions it was like $3-5 to ship then a small amount for each item after that.
When were talking 1/8" prop shafts, bearings, dogs and nuts its not going to cost $12.50 to ship even... lol

Can't you buy/order the parts locally? I know that Toledo has a couple of good hobby shops. Rider's can get Octura but usually they're a pain to deal with unless you have a big order. Hobby Stop West is another possibility.
If all else fails you can order directly from Octura.

RE: Online purchase Octura parts
Riders is now out of business and they were an hour drive from my place.
Hobby Stop West is about 40 minutes from me and I wont order there again... They told me part of my order was in so i drove up to get it. They couldnt find it? Waste of a trip... Then I went up 2 weeks later (over a month after I ordered. They still didnt have my complete order... From what I got out of the conversations there only the boat guy orders the boat parts. he works part time and during the day... So I wouldnt ever see him (i guess). In end to much hassle. I was really upset about the wasted drive...
So im just going to buy direct and be done with it. No BS excuses about distributors, employees, etc. Just the parts I need to my door.

Myself I call a guy in the suburbs of Chicago, Gary Preusse. It's always worth the cost of a long-distance phnoe call to me as I talk to a real person who is very knowledgable, not to mention a multi-time SAW record holder. He's always given me fast service. If he doesn't have it in stock, he can usually have it in a day. His number if you're interested is 630-279-2451.
