Am I seeing bare wood under the engine mounts? I hope it has some sort of coating on it or that bottom was toast when you bought the boat

I think we need to add sand paper and a sanding block to the list to remove some of that paint and left over wood and epoxy from the bottom of the frames. Just out of curiosity, do you have a Dremel Tool with a right angle drive?

Too bad you're so far away. We could both be tearing into the boat if we were closer

That's probably the easiest way to go. When you get the bottom off, it could help to try to remove some of the epoxy around the tube where it goes through the bulkhead and frame. I"m looking at how the radio gear was mounted. Would be much better to have all the radio gear as far forward as possible instead of having the servos all the way to the back. Can you still tell what kind of servos they are?

and cutting the shaft in 3 places using 2 pairs of pliers to twist them out !

Your S26 was way to lite for the rudder. It only has 43.1 inch ounces of torque. You would be better off with an S3305 as it has 99 inch ounces of torque. An S148 will work for the throttle. These will require a new receiver as well. What kind of radio came with your boat?

To be honest, I sort of enjoy helping someone like this. When I started back in 1982, I had to learn everythign by trial and error. Now I learn almost as much as I help just by reading these threads and talking to people. There are lots of people in these forums that know more than I, they just won't say anything which is really too bad. At the same time, there are several of us that like to help so it kind of balances out

the radio was an futaba attack FP-T2NL

I never used it when I tried it 4 5 days ago....

I cut all the servo connections and put JR's to plug into my Specktrum

SR3001 on a 6V hump pack...

Im gona put a 80oz fast response on throttle
and a bigger 150+ oz fast response on the bigger rudder
will put on it....

put a 7.4V lipo in there with full telemetry to my hand held device
so I can see how hot it is out on the lake and to know if I have to cut
it or tune to Gain rpm or drop rpm to make sure the Vintage stays
good for another 26 years

That's Really cool man I think the Same way That's why I really apreciate the help !

the crush tube is done.... it was in there tight as hell ... but all the shafts and other parts are fine...

Those are both overkill, a standard servo for the throttle is plenty while a standard sized high torque in the 95 to 110 range is plenty for your boat. Remember, you have to think lite. Heck, you could even use a mini servo for the throttle as long as it's got enough power to do the job. YOU'RE USING A SPECTRUM??????????????????? Those have proven to glitch in boats due to signal reflection off the water. There is only one version that works reliably in boats. I'll do some checking to see which one it is.

maybe something bigger for throttle servo if my fail safe doesn't kit in atleast I could have a return spring that could over power the servo to stall....

that's cool no problem there Im used to land.....

as long as there digital for response im down.....

removed a few things like throttle linkage and push rod.... starting to seperate some wear areas
of the floor...

there was about a 3mm layer of epoxy around the stuffing shaft and the floor lol....

the entire telemetry is 20 30G's
good safety I would figure

that's 20 30g's I can remove by changing to a mac tuned pipe

Im using a specktrum dx3r with a 1m antenna.....
It ranged a good forever
i could only seee a tiny rooster

You mean it's coming apart that easily? This could have been really bad if it had split while running

Not a good thing to find in a boat. That back end was heading for a failure if the wood was that wet
