The Nash "Carlos Chagas" was built in 1984 by the Navy of Rio de Janeiro, measuring 47.19 m long and 1.8 m draft and was specially designed and equipped to act as a vessel Care. The Nash "Carlos Chagas" has: 02 dental offices, 01 room vaccine, 02 doctor's office, room 01 x-ray, 01 operating room, ward 02, 01 and 01 pharmacy laboratory. These resources give it great versatility in service, allowing medical care to areas of difficult access or emergency situations.
Operations of Hospital Care to people living are the result of an agreement between the Navy and the Ministry of Health, which since 1984 providing medical and dental care to poor communities who live along the rivers of the Amazon, totaling 12 centers of care. Besides medical care, are made lectures on personal hygiene, birth control, safety of navigation, control of endemic disease and also, Marine Inspection, thus contributing to the supervision and protection of our national territory.
Every year thousands of locations receive assistance in the states of Amazonas, Amapá, Amazonas, Roraima, Rondônia and Acre. Causing approximately 30 thousand people are benefited in ASSHOP, which are the operations of Hospital Care in the coastal communities are assisted by the Navy of Brazil. Medical staff remain embedded throughout the commission, which lasts on average between 20 and 30 days.
