Hello , i am looking for some advise, i have recently bought a rc boat , and am slowly learning and enjoying it. My first job was to change the Batteries which i have done , i now have a NIMH 4.8v 5000 mah, But the its speed is very slow so what would be the next step to increase its speed , different motor or prop ???

I only wish it was as fast, but yes it does look like it a little. I have taken the 2 top fins off my boat as I felt they added to much weight to the aft. There has been no effect on the stability of the boat.

You would need more voltage than 4.8 to get more speed, but without knowing if the motor or esc are rated for anything higher than 4.8 no way of knowing.
website doesn't tell anything useful, anything in the manual?
other option would be to remove everything and upgrade. can you put pics of the actual setup ?

Dan.
