That looks like someone's home built design. A kit build or RTF would normally have more detail and be more equally sized than a hull that shallow with a huge cabin on top. I'd be willing to bet that cannon on the bow shoots water as well.

Looking again at the picture it appears to be more like something used at an amusement or fun park. The controls are usually coin operated. Dont see too many of them around. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...4d214780df.jpg

I hear that its a shop bought item

someone said it was readily amiable online nut I can't see anything

The opening post picture definately shouts "coin-op on amusement park" to me. The generally robust appearance and the two guys at the plinth mounted steering wheels in the background the other side of the fence are clues. Looking at the size of the antenna sticking up from the superstructure, I would guess that the picture dates from several years ago.
Boats like that are usually custom built for the park, often by park staff, often without too much knowlege of boats. When they come to the end of their useful life, they were often sold on. Today they might find their way on to auction sites. It becomes a matter of dumb luck finding one. But there are lots of kits on the market covering a huge range of types. However, most will be properly proportioned and based on something real. |

Blackpol Pleasure Beach Co. sold theirs when they changed their attractions around. About 18-20 years ago.
There are lots of hulls available on the market, all can be fitted with any superstructure wanted to get the "on the water" appearance. Obviously, a hobby grade model hull is likely to cost rather more than a beaten-up toy. A lot of years ago, I recall seeing an "Action Man" boat in a toy shop which was fairly large and looked a bit like a PBR. Don't know if they are still available, but it did look like a candidate for motorising. |
