Default Confused about brushless motor/ESC combo

I am interested in upgrading my 1/10th brushed 4wd to a brushless system, so I have been looking at some motor/ESC combos on hobbyking. This one looks alright but the motor and ESC don't seem compatible to me.

The ESC says the max spec motor it will take is 10.5T but the motor in the combo is 13.T, am I right too believe that these two aren't compatible and shouldn't be purchased or am I missing something?

First post on this forum, thanks in advance.

I'd suggest posting this in the Electric truck section - you'll get a better/quicker response due to this forum being for nitro engines. Try here: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-e...gies-more-147/

hi caption , you can use the esc down to a 10 turn motor your 13 turn motor will work , but nothing below a 10 , 9 turn motor due to the amperage draw on esc you can cook the esc ( burn it out ) if this helps in any way read what the manufactures say about their esc S and motor combinations ok mugey

Yeah, it says under the forum heading "talk about RC car nitro and gas engines". No big deal for me, I just recommended the electric forum as you'll get a faster response with better information.
