Default Idle screw faulty?

Just decided to try nitro again and I have an old thunder tiger with an pro .18 engine but my problem is I am unable to set the idle gap as nothing happens when I turn the idle screw. I've taken the slide out and tried to seat the idle screw in the groove of the slide but still nothing.
any help?
thanks.

Well either the screw is turning in when you turn it clockwise or it isn't.
If it's not turning down in then it's either a stripped/broken screw or a stripped carb body.
Remove it and see what is what.
