Default 2.4 GHz system drain battery super fast?

Just got a Skyion 2.4 GHZ system with my Cen Genesis. Having lots of problems with signal. Signal was good for only a very little while and only tested at short distance. The support at CEN said that the 2.4 GHZ system sucks batteries real fast. To only expect 10-15 min of life with a rechargable reciever pack. They said below 10 V on the remote is to low as well (12V is new batteries)

Any one else have any experience with 2.4 GHz remotes sucking batteries super fast. If this is "how they are" I'm going back to FM radios.

I am pretty sure something is wrong with my 2.4 GHz system. I hope these issues are not normal.

Just because it is a 2.4 ghz radio does not make it a good radio, it is still an RTR quality junk radio.

It comes with a CEN, there's the first problem LOL. There's no way you should only get 10-15 min from a set of batts, that's just ridiculous. I can't remember when was the last time I changed batteries in my Spektrum radios...

2.4ghz does require a bit more power than a 75 band system... but they should still last forever. Be thankful modulated FM died out, those systems sucked batteries like a fat kid eating cake.
