Tamiya 1/12 Midnight Pumpkin
OK gang, I'm getting my stepson this kit for christmas.
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXLWS3&P=0
I've been trying to figure out what kind of hopups can be done to it so he could continually build on it (building being his thing). Just in trying to figure out what motor sizes can go into it, holy confusing batman! Obviously another 540 type, a sport-tuned... What about brushless? He wouldn't care if it wheelied onto its back all the time (actually I think he'd be thrilled).
So, the questions;
Motor sizes, is there a tutorial on this? Are they all based off a number like 540?
Ball bearings kits off ebay I get.
Any one have any good web resources for hopups on the truck?
Thanks a newbie

RE: Tamiya 1/12 Midnight Pumpkin
the number 540 refers to the size of the can.
the number of Turns a motor has refers to the power.
any 540 sized motor can fit to the gearbox
yes, the pumkin can handle brushless systems. but thats alot of speed for the suspension to handle
i put a venom 17 turn motor in mine. that was very fast, wheelies on command!
you can get a oil filled shock upgrade for that chassis
ball bearings are a good idea. its best to get them and install them when you build it.
some people have made custom roll bars.

Thanks! I'll look for a ball bearing kit on Ebay unless you've got a better suggestion.
