i got all my parts in, and on. i just tried to start it and no good. btw its a rc10gt that i dusted off. it turns over but wont start. i know the glow plug is good. fresh gas. sometimes the pull starter misses. idkwhats up with that. but it still turns the engine over.

Drop several drops of fuel in the carb and crank it and see if you get a hit. Im betting it may have old fuel gunked up in the high speed needle housing.

If it start with some fuel dropped directly into the carb, then blow fairly hard in the pressure line with the throttle wide open and see if you can get fuel to come though. If not you may have to dissasemble the carb and clean it.

i did blow on the line & saw fuel in the carb. the pull starter seems to be missing often enough to be a pain. is there a part in the pull start that normally goes bad?
thanks
phil

Its the one way bearing. It looks like a wide Nut and it slides into the pull start assembly. Its steel. If you take the pull start off, that bearing will either be inside the plastic housing, or it might stay on the shaft when you pull the housing off.

Take that out, spray some brake clean, starter fluid, or denatured alcohol on it and softly rub a paper towel around the inside to try and clean it up some. They get oily and either slip or dont grab at all and they can make it a real pain to start.

He can probably get away with simply wiping the start shaft down and reinstalling the starter. That's all I ever did on my CEN NT16, and it loved to foul up it's one-way.

Edit: Damn the anti-spam timer. Haha. Glad to see you got it running, have fun!

Also that picture doesn't enlarge. Try using imageshack.us or photobucket instead. RCU's photo uploader is quite broken.
